IDAHO FALLS, IDAHO – April 2,
2007 – The Museum of Idaho will be presenting Dr. Bruce Zuckerman, who will be
giving a presentation on the Dead Sea Scrolls at Trinity Methodist Church (next
door to the Museum of Idaho) on Wednesday, May 9th and Thursday, May 10th at
7.00 pm. Dr. Zuckerman is the last of five speakers the Museum of Idaho has
scheduled to come to Idaho Falls. The
previous four speakers were outstanding in their insight and depth of
knowledge, often drawing crowds of over 300 and in conveying the importance of
the Dead Sea findings to the
Falls
world-renowned expert speak on the Dead Sea Scrolls in
Dr. Zuckerman is Associate
Professor of Hebrew Bible,
California
Eastern Languages from
before joining the USC faculty in 1980. He is also a partner of West Semitic
Research, director of the West Semitic Research Project and the Inscriptifact
Project, and director of the USC Archaeological Research Collection. He has published
a book on the biblical text of Job, Job the Silent (New York: Oxford Press,
1991), as well as numerous articles on ancient texts from biblical times. His
photographs have been featured in many scholarly publications as well as in a
number of popular venues.
