\nMuseum of Idaho will be presenting Dr. Andrew C. Skinner, who will be giving a
\npresentation on the Dead Sea Scrolls and the English Bible at
\nTrinity<\/st1:placename>
\nMethodist<\/st1:placename>
\nChurch<\/st1:placetype> (next door to the
\n
\nMuseum<\/st1:placetype> of
\nIdaho<\/st1:placename><\/st1:place>) on Wednesday, April 4th, at 7.00
\npm.
\n<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Skinner was born and
\nraised in
\n
\nColorado<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>.  <\/span>He attended the
\n
\nUniversity<\/st1:placetype> of
\nColorado<\/st1:placename><\/st1:place>
\nwhere he earned his B.A. degree in history. <\/span>He then earned an M.A. degree from the Iliff School of Theology in
\nJewish Studies and a Th.M. degree from Harvard in Biblical Hebrew.  <\/span>He did graduate work at
\nHebrew<\/st1:placename>
\nUniversity<\/st1:placetype> in
\n
\nJerusalem<\/st1:city>,
\nIsrael<\/st1:country-region><\/st1:place>.  <\/span>His Ph.D. was awarded from the
\n
\nUniversity<\/st1:placetype> of
\nDenver<\/st1:placename><\/st1:place> in Near Eastern and European
\nHistory, specializing in Judaism.
\n<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Skinner taught four years
\nat
\nRicks<\/st1:placename>
\nCollege<\/st1:placename>,
\nand has filled three assignments at the
\n
\nBYU<\/st1:placename>
\nJerusalem<\/st1:placename>
\nCenter<\/st1:placetype><\/st1:place> where he served as
\na faculty member and taught Near Eastern Studies.  <\/span>Since September 2000 he has served as the
\nDean of Religious Education at
\nBrigham<\/st1:placename>
\nYoung<\/st1:placename>
\nUniversity<\/st1:placetype>
\nin
\n
\nProvo<\/st1:city>,
\nUtah<\/st1:state><\/st1:place>.  <\/span>Prior to his current appointment, he served
\nas chair of the department of Ancient Scripture at BYU.  <\/span>He is the author or co-author of over 100
\npublications including Jerusalem: The Eternal City; New Testament Apostles
\nTestify of Christ; Discoveries in the Judean Desert: The Unidentified Fragments
\nfrom Qumran Cave 4 (which is an analysis of all the unidentified Hebrew and
\nAramaic Dead Sea Scroll texts); Scriptural Parables for the Latter Days, and
\nGethsemane.
